Brothers Nathan and Nick Pugh, students at Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox, have been named to the all-state honors choir. It’s the third time Providence has had students named to honors choir at state.

Based upon the judge’s scoring of the original videos, the Pughs were named to the choir as members of the Bass I section. All-State will take place at the Illinois Music Educators Conference in Peoria at the end of January with performances set for Jan. 29 at the Peoria Convention Center.

The vocalists only had the one audition as their opportunity. Every choir student in the district choosing to audition was given the task to demonstrate their singing abilities on specific repertoire and tonal skills. After the thousands of video submissions, the Pughs, as well as Providence’s Paige Shepherd (Alto 1) were selected to the District 1 ILMEA Music Festival Nov. 20 at Elmhurst University.
