


Dublin will host Ireland’s first NFL regular-season game when the Pittsburgh Steelers play at historic Croke Park in 2025, the league announced Friday, two days before the Chiefs and Eagles meet in the Super Bowl.
The Irish capital joins Madrid and Berlin as first-time hosts next season as the league expands its global footprint. It announced earlier this week that an NFL game would be played at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia in 2026.

Brown calls his final game at 91 >> Hubie Brown took his first college coaching job in 1968 and now at 91 is set to work his final game as a broadcaster, never stopping teaching the sport in more than 55 years since.
Brown will work ABC’s telecast of Sunday’s game between Philadelphia and Milwaukee, where he got his first NBA opportunity as an assistant coach with the Bucks teams featuring Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson in 1972.
For the next five decades, he’d move from the coach’s box to the TV table and back, earning induction in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005 for his contributions to basketball.

Indiana coach Woodson won’t return for 2025-26 season >> Indiana coach Mike Woodson won’t return next season, the school announced.
The 66-year-old Woodson has been under fire most of the past two seasons because his teams have underperformed. Indiana did not make last year’s NCAA Tournament for the first time since Woodson returned to his alma mater for the 2021-22 season, and they could miss the 68-team field again this season.

NASCAR honors Rudd, Edwards as Hall of Fame inductees >> One of the toughest drivers in NASCAR history joined one the most enigmatic drivers of the modern era as the newest inductees into the Hall of Fame in a star-studded ceremony.
Ricky Rudd, known as the “Ironman” for his 788 consecutive starts over a 32-year career, was feted for his grit. Also inducted was Carl Edwards, a popular driver who abruptly quit the sport after his second controversial loss of a Cup Series title.

Detry nearly aces 16, shoots 64 at Phoenix Open >> Thomas Detry nearly aced the par-3 16th hole and shot a 7-under 64 in the second round to take a two-shot lead in the Phoenix Open.
Detry had eight birdies and a bogey to reach 12 under on another day of perfect conditions at TPC Sawgrass. Michael Kim shot a bogey-free 63 to reach 10 under and was tied with Alex Smalley, who shot 65.
Jordan Spieth put himself in the mix with eagles on 13 and 15, shooting 65 to reach 9 under in his second tournament since offseason surgery.
Jin Young Ko shoots 63 to take lead at Founders Cup >> Three-time champion Jin Young Ko birdied six of her last nine holes for an 8-under 63 and a two-stroke lead over four players in the LPGA Tour’s Founders Cup.
Trying to win the event on a fourth venue, Ko had a 12-under 130 total at Bradenton Country Club after her second straight bogey-free round. American Lauren Coughlin was another stroke back after a 67.
Tiger Woods to play at Torrey Pines >> Tiger Woods committed to playing the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines, returning to one of his favorite venues for his first PGA Tour start since the British Open last July.
Woods will be playing — and walking — 18 holes in competition for the first time since he had a microdiscectomy in September to alleviate pain down his legs, his sixth surgery on his lower back. He will compete just over a week after the loss of his mother, Kultida Woods, who died Tuesday at age 80.

Mancini agrees to minor league contract with Diamondbacks >> The Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to a minor league contract with Trey Mancini as the outfielder and first baseman attempts a comeback after sitting out all of last season.
The 32-year-old has 129 homers over a seven-year career that includes time with the Baltimore Orioles, Houston Astros and Chicago Cubs.

Record January transfers in men’s soccer valued at $2.35B >> Fueled by England and Saudi Arabia, clubs spent a record $2.35 billion on international transfer deals in a booming January trading period for men’s soccer, FIFA said.
