A convicted felon was arrested after authorities conducted a drug raid in Detroit that resulted in the seizure of thousands of pills, several firearms, and $35,000 in cash, according to Macomb County police.

The County of Macomb Enforcement Team (COMET) on Wednesday executed a search warrant at an undisclosed location in Detroit.

In total, detectives seized over 10,000 pills, which included fake fentanyl or methamphetamine, along with 12 firearms, including five that had reported as stolen, COMET officials said in a news release.

“The street value of the drugs is approximately $50,000,” investigators said in the release.

The suspect is a convicted felon who is being held in custody pending his arraignment. Police did not reveal his or the charges he faces.

COMET said it is filing an intent to have the seized cash forfeited.

The investigation is ongoing.

COMET is an undercover drug task force made up of officers from Chesterfield Township, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Roseville, St. Clair Shores, Shelby Township, and federal agencies.

The COMET team was assisted by Metro Narcotics Enforcement Team, the Michigan State Police Metro South Post, MSP’s ES Team, and MSP’s 2nd District Headquarters.

The investigation was supported by Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG) awarded by the U.S. Justice Department and administered by Michigan State Police.
