


The Macomb County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications to fill one seat on the Macomb County Community Mental Health Board for a partial term that will run through March 31, 2027.
The CMH Board oversees Macomb County Community Mental Health (MCCMH) and is charged with providing a comprehensive array of mental health services appropriate to the needs of the individuals within its service area, regardless of the ability to pay.
By statute, the members are representatives of providers of mental health services, recipients of mental health services, agencies and occupations having a working involvement with mental health services and the general public.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of Macomb County. An awareness of mental health services provision in Macomb County and knowledge of the evolving mental health landscape as well as a basic understanding of Medicaid regulations is a must. Familiarity with the Mental Health Code in the specific area of provision services is preferred.
Applicants cannot be employed by Michigan Department of Health and Human Services or MCCMH; cannot be a a party to a contract with MCCMH or administering or benefitting financially from a contract with MCCMH; and cannot serve in a policy-making position with an agency under contract with MCCMH.
Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Aug. 12.
Those seeking the post are expected to attend the Government Operations Committee meeting on Aug. 19 at 3 p.m. for a public interview. Appointments will take place at the Aug. 21 full board meeting. Board members receive $75 per diem, plus mileage, as mandated by statute. Meetings are typically held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 6 p.m. in the BOC Board Room on the 9th Floor of the County Administration Building.
