



Earlier this week, Woodland High School honored its 2025 varsity student-athletes during the annual winter sports banquet.
The Woodland High School team MVP recipients from left to right: Boys soccer MVP Johan Olmedo, boys basketball MVP Lincoln Twilley, cheer MVP Marissa Flores, girls basketball MVP Presley Pinegar, Girls, girls soccer MVP Cassie Vannucci-Mounce, boys wrestling MVP Julian Mendez.
Olmedo enjoyed a prolific season for the Wolves, amassing an eye-popping 40 goals and 28 assists, good for 5th and 2nd in California, respectively. He played a key role for the team as they cruised to a Golden Empire League title, earning the No. 1 overall seed in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section D4 playoffs. They rode that sending all the way to the final where, ultimately, they’d lose to No. 3 seed Liberty Ranch 3-1.
Olmedo and the Wolves’ season ended following a 4-2 loss to Granada on March 1 in the first round of the CIF D3 NorCal Soccer Championship.
Vannucci-Mounce enjoyed a great season for the Wolves as well, leading the team with 5 goals. Follwoing a fourth-place finish in the Golden Empire League, the Wolves season came to an end in the first round of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section D4 playoffs.
Lincoln Twilley led the boy’s basketball team with 17 points per game, while Pinegar averaged 9.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
