Classic Hollywood cinema returns to the Odd Fellows Hall for a three-week run starting Sunday, March 30. This is a continuation of the Davis Odd Fellows Classic Film Festival.
The Spring Classic Film Festival will happen on Sundays, March 30, April 6, and 13 at the Davis Odd Fellows Hall at 415 2nd St. in downtown Davis. Doors open at 6:29 p.m., and the films are shown around 7:01 p.m. It’s free of charge (although donations are always welcome to support classic films). Popcorn is provided free of charge, and the Odd Fellows bar is also open to purchase drinks.
The films are recommended by Film Critic/Reviewer Derrick Bang and selected by the committee. The genre for the upcoming Festival is Doris Day Classic Movies. Derrick will speak before each movie, enlightening those attending on the plot, director, actors and fun things to look for while watching, and will do a quick Q&A after.
On March 30, the festival will be showing “Pillow Talk,” featuring Day and Rock Hudson. On April 6, the festival will show “That Touch of Mink” with Day, Gig Young, and Cary Grant, and on April 14, “The Thrill of it All” with Day and James Garner.
