A concert series kicks off Thursday night at the Forest Preserve District of Will County.
The Music in the Moonlight free concert series begins at the Hickory Creek Preserve/LaPorte Road Access in Mokena with rock ānā roll music from Midlife Crisis from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
The series will feature two more concerts at Hickory Creek with the music of Billy Croft and the 5 Alarm on July 6, and Chicago Kingsnakes, a Chicago-based blues band, on Aug. 3.
More concerts will be staged at the Riverview Farmstead Preserve in Naperville with the group 3 A.M. on June 15, Bagshot Row on July 20 and Soul Motion on Aug. 17.
Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, insect repellent, snacks and beverages.
This is the first year the concerts will be staged at a variety of locations.
Meanwhile, Food Truck Fridays gets underway with a different vendor from 4:30 to 7 p.m. each Friday in June at Whalon Lake in Naperville.
In July, Food Truck Fridays moves to Hickory Creek Barrens Nature Preserve at U.S. 30 and Schoolhouse Road, and in August vendors will be at Lake Renwick Preserve/Turtle Lake Access in Plainfield.
