A Dolton woman killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway near 83rd Street early Sunday has been identified, according to officials.

A woman identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as Breana Fizer, 19, was killed while driving northbound on the Dan Ryan when a 2010 black Chrysler rear-ended her gray Kia, according to state police. Fizer was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two of the Chrysler passengers, a 28-year old man and 27-year old woman, were transported to area hospitals in serious condition. A third passenger had no injuries.

The person driving the Chrysler was unknown and charges are pending investigation, state police said in a news release.

Northbound lanes — closed for nearly five hours while police investigated the cause of the crash — reopened at 8:19 a.m., according to Jayme Bufford, a spokeswoman for state police.
