I’m a boomer senior citizen who is nauseated by this ridiculous cancel culture. I come from an era that still respects our armed forces, stands for the flag and national anthem and kneels for the cross of our Lord, Jesus Christ. To MLB, we can just click off the TV and radio like we did for the NFL and NBA. To Delta and American Airlines, we can gladly fly Southwest Airlines. And to the woke Coke, who I hope goes broke, this member of the Pepsi generation says you’ve lost me too.

Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, has come out to say he supports higher corporate taxes. Amazon, a billion-dollar corporation, has had years without paying any taxes. In 2020, they finally paid something. He’s worth $118 billion thanks to this country. I read so many people complaining about middle class workers collecting pensions, a $15 minimum wage, poor people getting help, yet I never hear complaints about how much wealth has been accumulated by the wealthiest corporations and how little taxes they pay. President Biden, increase those corporate tax rates and get rid of those loopholes!

Marjorie Taylor Greene, JIM Jordan, Lauren “shoot em up” Boebert and Matt “Mr. Wonderful” Gaetz. The Republican Party has sunk so low the bar should be below the floor.

To BJ of Hazel Crest. I know, like you, that suburbanites do love their dogs, but our experience has been different. We have found our neighbors to be very conscientious about picking up after their dogs. Even those walking through who we do not know will take a plastic bag out of their pockets to pick up and dispose of waste. There is an ordinance in Hazel Crest that requires that to be done. Instead of approaching neighbors who may be unreceptive or simply unaware of the ordinance, why not speak to the authorities about what can be done?

With the baseball season in full swing the best we can get out of your sports page is golf standings, tennis standings, NBA scoring leaders, college hockey etc. I guess it is not politically correct to list the baseball standings in your sports pages

The little kid that was shot by the police in Little Village. Mayor Lightfoot should answer this too. Why wasn’t DCFS called about a kid, 13 years old, out on the street at 2:30 in the morning? Plus he had a gun. Where were the parents supposedly to keep an eye on their kid? Somebody should investigate this. The parents should get charged, not the police.
