October is no walk in the park in Pasadena. In fact, it’s a walk through the whole city.

The city is inviting everybody to its Walktober event, a series of activities throughout the month, designed to promote all things walking.

It’s the seventh year of the event, which the city celebrates in conjunction with other communities across the globe, including Portland, Ore. Raleigh, N.C., all the way to Adelaide, Australia.

The event is supported by Day One, and PasCSC, which have partnered with local organizations and community members to put together a month-long calendar of in-person walks, tours, and community events.

Each of the events double down on reasons why people walk. They might be for everyday exercise, mental health to meeting new people, learning about the city, or simply to getting to work or school. In the meantime, people get a walking-view of the city’s history and cultural sites.
