Careers in Education

High school students are exploring their interest in working in education/childcare fields.

This year is the first year Anchor Bay has a Co-Op program where students are hired by the Anchor Bay School District and are working at SACC morning care in Anchor Bay Elementary and Early Childhood buildings.

Students start at 6:30 a.m. and work through 1st and 2nd hour.

They are fostering social engagement with the children and providing safe childcare.

There is also a Careers in Education class at Anchor Bay High School where students are assisting teachers in elementary and middle school classrooms as well as local early childhood centers.

This program has students working alongside a cooperating teacher assisting with one-on-one, small group, and large group support in the classroom. Many of these students have also worked as Summer School Teacher Cadets in Anchor Bays summer school program.
