At Anchor Bay High School, co-op students are actively shaping the future of their community through hands-on experience in various workplaces.
The 2024 fall semester saw 35 students enrolled in the program and eventually has grown to nearly 60 students who are active in the 2025 spring semester!
These students, part of an innovative cooperative education program, are not just learning in the classroom but are also integrating their studies with real-world work experiences.
From assisting in hands-on work opportunities such as construction, hospitality, landscaping, and business endeavors, these students are seen as valuable assets, bringing fresh perspectives and energy to their work placements.
Their involvement extends beyond mere job duties; as our Anchor Bay students are engaging themselves in community outreach as well as solidifying real world experiences for themselves.
The co-op program at Anchor Bay encourages students to explore career paths, develop professional networks, and understand the importance of community involvement. This symbiotic relationship benefits both the students, who gain invaluable experience, and the community, which sees direct contributions from an engaged, educated youth.
Through this program, Anchor Bay High School is not only preparing students for future careers but also for life as active community members.
