A Roseville Community Schools staff member has been suspended while authorities investigate a Detroit woman’s claims of being sexually molested by him at a Detroit Bible academy, officials said Tuesday.

The staff member was placed on paid administrative leave while the woman’s allegations of unprofessional conduct that occurred in his previous place of employment are being investigated, school officials said in a letter to parents in the district.

“Please note that this action is not a determination of wrongdoing but rather a procedural step to ensure a thorough and fair review,” Superintendent Mark Blaszkowski said in the letter. “Our priority remains the well-being of our students, staff, and the broader school community.”

The superintendent went on to say the district is committed to maintaining transparency while also respecting the privacy and rights of those involved.

Reached later, Blaszkowski said because the matter is under investigation, he cannot provide additional information.

“We have turned everything over to the police and I do not want to jeopardize the investigation,” Blaszkowski said in an email to The Macomb Daily.

Roseville Police Chief Mitch Berlin said detectives completed a preliminary investigation of the incident that shows the alleged criminal activity occurred in another jurisdiction.

“Our detectives notified that jurisdiction and provided them with our investigation and are prepared to assist if needed,” Berlin said in an email. “The Roseville Police Department has an excellent working relationship with the school’s administration, and we will continue to provide guidance regarding this matter as the investigation continue

The newspaper is not naming the staff member because he hasn’t been charged.

According to the woman’s social media post outlining her claims, the incident took place in 2016 while she and the administrator were employed at Westside Christian Academy in Detroit.

Saying she “felt ashamed and confused,” the alleged victim said she recently reached out to a Bible teacher before going public with her charges. She said her evidence includes a recording of a phone call between the two, screenshots of him sending money to her to “keep my mouth closed,” and says she can describe his genitals “in great detail.”

“I have gained the strength and courage to expose a pedophile,” the woman wrote in her social media post.

Using graphic detail, she says the suspended official molested her “repeatedly” at Westside Christian Academy, in his vehicle, and his home.

Officials at Westside Christian Academy could not be reached Tuesday.

“I was put in a position where my superior, an authority figure was allowed to do whatever he pleased to me,” the woman wrote in her post.

The woman said she recently learned the staff member was working with students at Roseville High School, so she reached out to him in order to get a better understanding of what had happened.

The Macomb Daily generally doesn’t name victims of sexual assaults.
