The Matadores fall from the SGV’s top spot for the first time after dropping two of three games against Gahr, putting their Gateway League title hopes in jeopardy. The Matadores are 9-2 in league while Gahr is 5-1 with more games to play.

The Lancers are 9-0 in the Del Rey League after beating Paraclete 1-0 in 11 innings. They need to beat La Salle once during a three-game series next week to clinch the league title outright.

4. MONROVIA (18-3)
The big week has arrived for the Wildcats, who have games against La Canada on Monday and Thursday that will help decide the Rio Hondo League title. The Wildcats are 7-1 in league with the Titans second at 5-1.

5. SOUTH HILLS (13-6)
Joseph Moreno threw a no-hitter in a 7-0 win over Los Altos, and the Huskies blanked the Conquerors again 4-0 to move to 6-0 in the Hacienda League. Big games this week against San Dimas on Wednesday and Friday.

6. LA SALLE (14-5)
The Lancers are peaking at the right time, having won five straight, including a 5-2 victory over Loyola. They have nonleague games against Notre Dame and Crespi before facing Bishop Amat three times next week.

7. GANESHA (13-3)
The Giants are 10-0 in the Miramonte League and have a .423 team batting average and team ERA of 0.60. They were No. 95 in the latest CIF-SS computer rankings, which puts them on the Division 3 and 4 cutline.

The Swordsmen have won four straight and have allowed just three runs over those four games. They ended the week with shutouts of Paramount (5-0) and Santa Fe (7-0).

The Minutemen improved to 6-0 in the Olympic League two close wins over Whittier Christian, 2-1 and 3-1. They have a busy week with four tournament games in four days starting with Lompoc on Wednesday.

The Titans beat Monrovia 8-1 in their first meeting and face them twice this week in key Rio Hondo League games. Both teams have one league loss. The Wildcats are 7-1 while the Titans are 5-1.
