An event that starts next week will use laughs to raise money for a serious issue — supporting those with autism.
LouddMouth For the Love of Comedy Spring Festival will begin Tuesday and include six nights of comedy in the Temecula area.
The events — which end April 6 — will blend mixers, stand-up comedy, panel discussions and podcast tapings and span three venues, organizer Sonny Smith wrote in an email.
Organized by LouddMouth Comedy, of which Smith is the producer and founder, the festival will raise money for the Temecula-based nonprofit group, Anthonie’s Voice.
Anthonie’s Voice focuses on raising awareness of autism and offering resources to other organizations and families with members on the autism spectrum.
Festival highlights include:
• Tuesday — Shang, a comedian, will be featured during the Toast to the Festival. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the event beginning at 7 p.m. The site is Lorimar Vineyards and Winery, 39990 Anza Road, in Temecula Valley Wine Country.
• Wednesday — Comedian Nikki Carr will be featured during The Stand Up For Autism — Light It Up Blue Comedy Event on World Autism Awareness Day.
The times and location are the same as the first night.
