In Riverside, there’s a new mural in town.
This one — titled “A Walk Through the Orange Groves” — adorns a brick wall outside a dental office.
The colorful painting celebrating the city’s citrus heritage can be seen near the practice of Dr. Mark Harris, located on Brockton Avenue near its intersection with Jurupa Avenue.
The artwork marks Harris’ 20th year in practice, a news release states. It features orange trees, green hills, a dog and the city’s Raincross logo.
“Every time I see the mural, it makes me happy to be a part of such a vibrant community,” Harris said in the release. “My hope is that others can feel the same sense of pride and connection through the artwork.”
A Feb. 7 ceremony unveiled the image created by Noel Goin, an art teacher from Orange County who lives in Riverside. Riverside Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson and Riverside City Councilmember Philip Falcone attended.
Harris’s office was founded in 1973 by Dr. Rodney Muller. Harris took over the practice in 2005.
“This mural is a piece of our collective identity, one brushstroke at a time,” Goin said in the release.
