The Lancers, who struggled in the tough Del Rey League last season, opened league play with a 60-54 loss to St. Monica.

2. FLINTRIDGE PREP (11-1)
The Wolves haven’t played a game this month due to the Eaton fire and their lone loss came against La Salle 54-44 in the Glendora tournament in December. They hope to return to action today against Chadwick.

3. GLENDORA (15-7)
The Tartans started 1-2 in the Palomares League, but rebounded nicely with wins over Bonita and Walnut to improve to 3-2. They took a loss Saturday against J.W. North. They return to league play against Ayala today.

4. BONITA (17-5)
The Bearcats are 4-1 in the Palomares League. Despite the loss to Glendora, they can take big steps toward the league title with wins this week against Diamond Bar and Claremont.

5. SOUTH PASADENA (9-4)
The Tigers lost to Shadow Hills during the Arcadia MLK showcase on Saturday. They have started 2-0 in the Rio Hondo League. Looks like they might cruise through league.

6. DIAMOND BAR (10-4)
The Brahmas have won four of five, which includes a 54-40 win over Glendora. But they lost to Claremont 57-45 on Friday and are 3-2 in the Palomares League.

7. DIAMOND RANCH (13-6)
The Panthers have won three straight to improve to 3-1 in the Mt. Baldly League. Senior Jazlyn Wint leads them with 10 points and eight rebounds per game.

8. LA CANADA (12-5)
The Spartans haven’t been able to start league play due to the Eaton fire. They have not played since a Jan. 4 loss to Saugus. They start league play Wednesday against Temple City.

9. LA SERNA (15-8)
The Lancers dropped to 2-1 in the Del Rio League with a 49-48 loss to California, but have won three of four.

10. SONORA (13-9)
Suffered a tough 51-42 loss to Yorba Linda to drop to 2-2 in the Freeway League. They have a big one this week against La Habra.
