
The 33rd annual Walk With the Animals, a fundraiser for the Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center, will be held 9 a.m.-noon April 26 at Fairmount Park, 2601 Fairmount Blvd., Riverside.
In addition to the walk, the pet-friendly event includes a vendor village, Kids’ Zone, dog activity area, pet contests and raffles for prizes including gift cards for restaurants, events and experiences.
Registration is $40 for adults and $30 for students of any age, available at petsadoption.org. All registered participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt and pancake breakfast, and there are incentives offered for those who raise donations of at least $250, according to a news release.
At the event, the pancake breakfast, vendor village and on-site registration will open at 9 a.m. The walk will begin at 10 a.m., after a blessing of the animals ceremony.
Funds raised will be used for the care of the thousands of homeless animals and their owners helped by the Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center and its programs and services each year.
DCH Subaru of Riverside is the event’s presenting sponsor. Other major sponsors are All Pro Cooling, Heating, Plumbing and Electrical; KATY-FM; and VCA Animal Hospital.
The Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center, at 6165 Industrial Ave., Riverside, is a nonprofit organization founded in 1897. Its programs and services include humane education, low-cost and no-cost spay and neuter services, low-cost vaccinations, microchipping, animal sheltering and pet adoptions. The center is open noon-7 p.m. every day except Tuesday.
