David Greear began service as the Town of Estes Park’s new Public Works Director on April 28. Town Administrator Travis Machalek commented, “I am excited to welcome David as the Town’s new Public Works Director. His extensive leadership experience in public works will be an invaluable asset to our team, and will have a positive impact on our community.”

Greear commented, “I have lived and worked as an engineer in central Texas for the last 35 years and am excited to start my next adventure here in Estes Park. I am moving here with my wife (April) and three dogs. My wife and I have raised five great kids who are now adulting (with occasional monetary support). My wife April is an elementary school teacher, but plans to take a break from teaching while she explores Estes Park.”

Greear most recently served as the Public Works Director for Travis County, TX from 2021 until his departure in April. Prior to that, he served as the Traffic Program Manager, Engineering Division Manager, and Assistant Public Works Director for Travis County.

The Town’s Public Works Department consists of the Transportation & Stormwater (Engineering & Operations, Parks, and Parking & Transit Divisions.
