Denver Veterans Day Festival
The area’s largest salute to freedom fighters is the Denver Veterans Day Festival in City Park on Nov. 9. This free, family-friendly event goes from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features a music stage, kids and family activities, military displays, and vendors. The festival serves as a celebratory “thank you” to our veterans who have fought to ensure our freedoms. A parade starts around 10:30 a.m., featuring a march through military history as participants represent different conflicts over the years, including the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War I and World War II. The Castle Rock “Lighting of the Star” has been a community event since 1936. The same spirit of volunteerism, generosity and love of tradition continues today as Castle Rock businesses and residents celebrate Starlighting on Nov. 23. Downtown Littleton officially kicks off the holiday season on Nov. 29 with its annual Candlelight Walk and Parade from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Santa Claus is the guest of honor for a procession down Main Street that includes floats, music and holiday entertainment. The popular holiday event will feature music, dancing trees, reindeer and more. Rocky Mountain Holiday Train Show
All aboard! The Rocky Mountain Holiday Train Show steams into Loveland on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at The Ranch Events Complex (5830 Arena Circle). With more than 60 vendors, this is a great show for the young and the young-at-heart, whether you are just getting started in the hobby or a long-time scale modeler. They will be selling trains in scales ranging from N to G. Kids can participate in plenty of free and low-cost activities.
