Kids get free backpacks at event

It’s not too early to think about back-to-school time.
That’s why about 200 children walked away from a Saturday, July 12, event in San Bernardino with backpacks stuffed with school supplies.
Walmart, Catholic Charities San Bernardino & Riverside Counties and the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office hosted the event.
Held at Catholic Charities’ office, it also featured free shaved ice and face painting as well as booths.
Representatives from the district attorney’s Victim Services Division attended to share resources with families.
