The State of the Community is the LWVYC’s primary fundraiser of the year. It is a chance to brief the community on issues that will affect Yolo County residents in the coming years. Frerichs will discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Yolo County in the areas of agriculture, business, immigration, housing, and healthcare.

Frerichs began a four-year term on the Board of Supervisors in January 2023 and represents the central and western portions of Davis as well as Winters, the campus of UC Davis, and the rural areas of southwestern Yolo County.

As a supervisor, Frerichs said he is committed to advancing policy that promotes the ability of families, in all their forms, to have their basic needs met in safe, connected communities where there is an opportunity for personal fulfillment and access to protected natural resources.

“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to speak at the League of Women Voters of Yolo County’s 2025 State of the Community Luncheon,” stated Frerichs.

“The League of Women Voters continues to play a valued role in keeping residents informed and engaged in our local democracy,” he continued. “As we launch into 2025, we face a mix of opportunities and challenges. Yolo County will be hiring a new Chief Administrative Officer and preparing for a challenging budget cycle. At the State of the Community event, I look forward to providing an update on a variety of topics, including the County’s actions to protect our most vulnerable community members.”
