Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center, based in Temecula, is offering seven educational scholarships for people impacted by cancer.
Students living in Riverside County, San Bernardino County and north San Diego County are eligible, and applications are being accepted through March 15.
A committee of community volunteers will evaluate applications, and awardees will be announced April 15, according to a news release.
The following scholarships are available.
The Patricia Deroeux Scholarship is a $2,000 award, sponsored by the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce, to support Temecula residents who are children of a parent who has died of cancer and are in need of educational financial assistance.
The Michelle’s Place Scholarship — North San Diego County is a $1,000 stipend for people in North San Diego County affected by cancer and seeking financial assistance for educational pursuits.
The Michelle’s Place Scholarship — Riverside/San Bernardino Counties is a $1,000 award for people in Riverside County or San Bernardino County impacted by cancer and in need of educational financial support.
The Shanen Skinner-Pearson Spirit of Life Scholarship is a $1,000 award for people impacted by breast cancer who have used their experience to inspire others and live a more fulfilling life.
The Team Charlotte Ovarian Cancer Awareness Scholarship, sponsored by Charlotte Flynn and her family and friends, is a $2,000 sum available to people in Riverside County who have been personally affected by ovarian cancer or have a family member impacted by it.
The Bill Cathey Scholarship, sponsored by Pam Pilcher and Jennifer Cathey, is a $1,000 award to assist Riverside County residents affected by cancer who require financial aid for their educational goals.
The Barbara Bryan Matzkin Scholarship, in memory of Barbara Bryan Matzkin, is a $1,000 sum for North San Diego County residents impacted by cancer and in need of financial assistance for their education.
