Sacred Heart Cathedral volleyball player Doris Cheung is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week, and Menlo School water polo player Hunter Coleman is the boys athlete of the week for Nov. 4-9.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Cheung finished with 27.92% of the votes. El Cerrito tennis player Ashara Rodrigo took second at 20.02%.

In the boys poll, Coleman finished with 33.96% of the vote. Alameda football player Christian DeGuzman took second at 32.18%.

Cheung, a junior, had a team-high 16 assists as the top-seeded Fightin’ Irish swept Soquel to win the CCS Division III crown.

Coleman, a freshman, scored six goals, stole five passes and drew three exclusions as Menlo beat Santa Cruz 16-6 in the CCS Open Division quarterfinals.
