PRINCETON >> Find out what’s happening this time of the year at Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary.
Families and children, ages 4 to 10, are welcome to have some winter-time fun with hands-on activities and a gentle nature walk from 1 until 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at the sanctuary, located at 113 Goodnow Road.
“Start indoors with an investigation of natural history objects such as nests and feathers, play a footprint matching game, and use clues to solve a tracking story,” said Katy Kennedy, education coordinator. “Then create a nature journal to record your discoveries when exploring the trails.”
Afterwards, participants will head outdoors for a gentle guided walk to search for evidence of animal activity.
“Observe clues found in nature, such as footprints, scat, and chewed nuts or seeds, and learn what these signs can tell us about wildlife on the sanctuary,” Kennedy added.
This program takes place both indoors and outdoors. Dress for the weather with sturdy boots or shoes.
