Holiday craft fairs underway
Area shows start this weekend and run through early December

The season for holiday craft shows is already upon us.
Starting this weekend with the 30th annual event at Andrew High School in Tinley Park and continuing into December, the season for shopping and gifting and creative inspiration also is a nod to charity, with many of the events benefiting scholarships, food pantries and such.
Ready, set, go!
This weekend
The 30th annual Fall Arts & Crafts Show sponsored by the Music Parents Association at Victor J. Andrew High School, 9001 W. 171st St. in Tinley Park, will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The fair is held earlier than usual this year to accommodate the marching band's competition schedule.
The fair features raffles, food concessions and more than 100 vendors. For those larger purchases, assistance to shoppers' vehicles is available.
“Band parents and our students volunteer on both the show days primarily to help out in any way they can,” event coordinator Veena Rao said. “I believe that is one of the features we stand out in. We have heard this from our crafters and vendors over and over.”
Admission is $3, $2 for seniors and free for attendees under 14.
