HAYWARD >> Police are investigating the killing of a man found with gunshot wounds late Saturday night behind an industrial complex along Industrial Boulevard.

No suspects were in custody as of Sunday afternoon, and the investigation is ongoing, police said. The death is the city’s 14th homicide of 2024.

Police received a call at 11:45 p.m. Saturday about a shooting in the 25000 block of Industrial Boulevard, authorities said. Responding officers found an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers and emergency medical personnel provided treatment at the scene before transporting the man to a hospital, where he later died.

The victim’s identity was not released Sunday, pending notification of family.
