
Granger Boy Scout Troop 511 held a Court of Honor on March 20 at Granger United Methodist Church. The Master of Ceremonies was Owen Barzal. Scout rank was awarded to David Keiper, Parker Phillips, Jett Weakland and Maxwell Wuchter. Carson Jackson earned Second Class rank. JJ Bazan and AJ Pedersen earned Star rank. Ryan Kirven and Bryce Reich advanced to Life rank.
The following scouts earned merit badges: JJ Bazan, personal fitness; Daniel Buck and Matthew Condor, citizenship in the community and communications; Evan Lautenschleger, Ted VanFossen and Ryan O’Neil, citizenship in the community; Nathan Fousek, family life, citizenship in the nation, citizenship in the world; Carson Jackson, family life, sports, swimming, citizenship in the community; Logan Jackson, swimming, citizenship in the community, cooking; Brian Musser, personal fitness, citizenship in the community; A J Pedersen, personal fitness, citizenship in the community; and Bryce Reich, personal fitness.
Several scouts are assuming new positions of responsibility in the troop. Roger Neil is the new scribe. Ryan Kirven is the troop guide and Jonathan Wuchter is the new den chief.
Pins for years of service were also awarded. First year pins went to Evan Crandall, Jay Ellis, Carson Jackson, William Karkoff, Ryan O’Neil, William Sollenberger and Tyler Steinbrink. Second year pins were awarded to JJ Bazan, Adam Fischer, Billy Murduck, Brian Musser, Michael Origilo, AJ Pedersen, Brice Phillips and Jonathan Wuchter. Third year pins were given to Danny Buck, Ben Dean, Logan Jackson, Evan Lautenschleger, Aaron Neil, Roger Neil and Bryce Reich. Fourth year pins were earned by Owen Barzal, Evan Buck, Brenden Cannon, Ryan Kirven and Ted VanFossen. Fifth Year pins went to Matthew Condor, Erik Ehrenfeld, Nathan Fousek, Justin Hamilton, Greg Karowski, Brandon Lenhard, John Nazier, Joe Sewell and Christopher Sollenberger. Sixth year pins were awarded to Dylan Edinger, Drew Gardner, and Danny Kirchner. Seventh year pins were earned by Justin Fousek, Josh Kedzior, Andy McMaster, Alex Sube and Spencer Zuppert. The eighth year pin went to Mike Back. This is a very active troop of all age groups.
