Drivers need to make sure they stop at stop signs
letter to the editor

To the Editor:

Drivers kind of need to learn now to stop their vehicles at stop signs and traffic lights. I'm just pointing out one intersection, even though it goes on at every other one, besides!

Poe Road and Wadsworth Road is really terrible. People who drive east/west and west/east on Poe Road don't stop at all if nobody is driving on Wadsworth Road going north/south and south/north.

Honestly, if that intersection is clear when the Poe Road driver reaches that intersection, their wheels never stop at all. They continue driving east or west on Poe Road.

In one instance, a passenger in a crash, with God's help, survived, even though the driver didn't stop at the red light. If he would have been wearing a helmet, it would have saved him a 17-day coma, a closed head injury, bruising and bleeding on both sides of the brain, a broken nose and two broken cheek bones.

DJs always comment, "Watch out for motorcyclists." Well, a lot of them can watch out for themselves and wear helmets to protect their head, face, skull and brain.

Good luck at that intersection, drivers. People who drive north on state Route 57 kind of need a 35 mph sign when they reach Poe Road. Going south has one. Why not both ways?
