M.C. Real Estate offers its clients knowledge, experience and proven results
MEDINA – As any successful business owner can attest, the secret to providing exceptional customer service starts with one step: the hiring of exceptional people.
That policy, which served as the cornerstone of M.C. Real Estate at the time the company was founded in 1993, remains its No. 1 priority today, and its expanding list of clients have taken notice.
“Our customers will be the first ones to tell you that the people who work here are the key to this company’s success,” said M.C. Real Estate’s Chief Executive Officer Matt Marquard. “We are very particular about who joins our firm and we work hard to give them every tool they need to provide a level of service to their clients that is unmatched by other agencies.”
Though there may be larger names in the real estate industry, Marquard wholeheartedly stands behind his testament that none of his competitors can approach his team’s level of knowledge of the local marketplace, hands-on personalized service or sales integrity.
“All of our agents are high-caliber, professional Realtors that bring with them diverse backgrounds, and are dedicated to the business of real estate,” Marquard said. “But beyond that they all have strong roots in Medina County, as well as Northeast Ohio, and are heavily invested in their local communities.”
A family affair
At M.C. Real Estate, the passion for the greater Medina area and its surrounding communities has been passed along from the top of the organization down. Before the multi-generational real estate agency became a fixture in Medina 25 years ago, the family had a long history in local building, property management and real estate sectors, providing both the roots and the knowledge base for its ever-expanding list of client services.
Michael and Nancy Marquard, who opened M.C. Real Estate in 1993, began transferring the brokerage’s operations and ownership to sons, Matt and Brandon back in 2011. While Michael still serves as a full-time real estate broker and adviser and Nancy remains the company’s chief financial officer, much of the company’s day-to-day operations are now overseen by the Marquard brothers.
What has made the transition so seamless over the years, the Marquards point out, is the team’s ongoing commitment to its clients and the community it has long served.
“Our father always told us you have to give back to the community what you take out, and we encourage our entire team to do just that,” Matt said.
When expanding its team of Realtors, the company looks to hire professionals that are considered “the right fit” for the organization as a whole, Matt said. Though aggressive, energetic, ambitious and motivated are many of the qualities the company looks for, equally as important, he said, are the individuals’ activities outside the office.
“We like our team members to be highly connected in the community, which makes them that much more knowledgeable and valuable to their clients,” he said, noting that several members of their 22-member sales team serve in local government, on professional and non-profit boards, the Medina County Board of Realtors and more.
The result, he said, has provided a level of service that is unmatched by M.C. Real Estate’s competitors.
“We are just as invested in our clients as we are in our communities, and that allows us to be the best local Realtors possible. We are fortunate that Medina County continues to value locally-owned and operated businesses that strive for excellence at what they do in and out of the office,” Matt said.
A full-service brokerage
With an experienced and knowledgeable staff, M.C. Real Estate is able to serve a wide variety of clients, from residential to commercial real estate to property management, land sales and virtually every segment of the industry in between.
No matter which segment of the brokerage, Brandon Marquard said, the company’s clients can rest assured knowing that they are in qualified, capable hands who have access to the most state-of-the-art tools in the industry.
To that aim, when it comes to selling homes, M.C. Real Estate works with each homeowner to create an individualized marketing plan that will get each home sold quickly and for the best price.
“There is no one-size-fits-all plan for selling homes. Each home and property is unique and requires its own marketing strategy. Every home or property, of course, is marketed online with photos and unique description and those listings appear on multiple real estate websites within hours. In addition, there are numerous additional steps taken to market the home to the public and real estate community,” Brandon said.
The same is true for clients in the market to purchase a home or residential lot where they can begin building their dream homes.
“Purchasing a home is often the largest financial transactions a person can make. We understand the importance of finding a home or property that meets their needs. We want our clients to be happy and satisfied with their purchase,” he said. “Our commitment to our buyers and the service that we provide are second-to-none and they can shop confidently knowing that their buying agent will be doing everything that they can to ensure that the process is as smooth as can be and that they are advised correctly in their purchase.”
Regardless of whether you’re buying or selling, or whether you are a first-time home buyer or a commercial developer, the Realtors at M.C. Real Estate are committed to their clients and working collaboratively throughout the entire process and even afterward.
“Accessibility and communication are key to providing results, and our Realtors understand this. In today's environment there are many different ways to interact with clients, so whether it's a meeting, phone call, or the latest in communication technologies, our agents are trained to use every tool necessary to provide a smooth and tailored experience,” Brandon said.
Growing again
Over the past 20 years, M.C. Real Estate’s client base has grown exponentially, as have the company’s property management services. The brokerage has become one of the area’s leading providers in property management services, allowing property owners and landlords to take a step back from the day-to-day hassles to let the brokerage take care of it all.
“Rick Stallard, our Director of Property Management, and his team do everything from finding qualified tenants, to overseeing building maintenance and collecting monthly rent payments and providing all financial record reporting,” Matt said, noting that the company also markets available rentals, ensuring that vacancies are filled quickly.
The company offers property management services for a wide variety of residential rentals, from single-family homes to multi-tenant buildings.
The good news for landlords wishing to sell their income properties, they also have the opportunity to continue working with the same trusted faces on the property management end of the business.
In addition, tenants have the opportunity to work with the Realtors to create a plan that puts them into the process of home ownership as their lease terms end.
“We try to make the entire process as simple and enjoyable as possible for each and every one of our clients,” Matt said. “We identify what we need to do to win our clients’ trust and we find a way to meet their needs and exceed their expectations.”
M.C. Real Estate is currently developing a new strategic plan for the next phase of the company and clients are guaranteed that the direction the business takes will make the company even better for those it serves.
“We never want to lose the foundation that we have built, so we are not going to grow without growing in the way that benefits our clients, our Realtors, and our community,” Matt said.
