Congratulations to Highland Middle School seventh-graders Gabe Colbrunn and Noah Colasanti, who placed first in the Jr. Exhibition of Robofest, held on March 18 at A.I. Root Middle School in Medina. About 40 students spent the day displaying competitive robots during the fourth annual Robofest, sponsored by Lawrence Technological University. The team, “RoboDocs,” coached by Robb Colbrunn, now advance to the 2017 World Robofest competition in St. Pete Beach, Fla., on June 2-3. The teammates said it took them more than 40 hours to build their robot, which could be used in the medical field. Through a computer program, they could perform surgery at a remote location.
