Dale McClain, 76, of Creston, died May 31, 2017 at his home following a period of declining health.
Dale was born Feb. 24, 1941 in Elana, W.Va. to the late Howard and Kathryn “Katie” (Moss) McClain and was a graduate of Spencer High School in West Virginia. He married the former Judith Truman on Aug. 20, 1960 and she survives. He retired from the Packaging Corp. of American in Rittman and had made his home in Creston for the past 52 years. Dale was a member of the Rittman Moose and enjoyed fishing, camping, playing video games, bowling and collecting coins.
Surviving are his wife, Judy; daughter, Patricia Harvey of Creston; grandchildren, Amber, Michael and James McClain, Brad and Joyce Keltz, Marcie Ewers; Dawn and Natasha Harvey and William Harvey, III; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, John McClain of Newton, W.Va.; and sisters, Glennis “Cricket” Conley of Marshallville and Peg Coen of Creston.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael McClain; his parents; and a sister, Cathy Wertz.
