Charles Burrel “Buz” Cormany, 90, of Medina, passed away March 18, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born in Richfield, Ohio on May 14, 1926 to the late Isaac E. and Hazel M. (Williams) Cormany.

Buz retired from East Ohio Gas with 39 years of service as a line walker and later a heavy machine operator. After retirement he drove a truck for Barco and Sons for another 14 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Buz was a member of York United Methodist Church for 60 years, he was an actor and former board member of Medina Show Biz, and a member of the Medina County Democrats. He was proud of his annual vegetable garden and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.

Buz is survived by his loving children, Steven (Susan Bernstein) Cormany, Sue (Tee Hildreth) Martin and Erin (Jean) Cormany; dear grandchildren, Missy Cormany, Rick (Star) Martin, LeVar Martin, Holly (Tommy Scott) Corley and Denell Cormany; beloved great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Justice, Imani, Alayah, Dimiond, Byron, Bryan, El-imine, Mylen, Jamar, Cyrenauti, Honesty and D’reama; great-great-granddaughter, Lorelai; his nephew, Mark (Jenny) Mitchell; and great-nephew, JT Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Elley, in 1996; son, Michael in 1957; and two grandchildren, Jason in 1974 and Gypsy in 1976.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at York United Methodist Church, 6566 Norwalk Road, Medina, OH 44256.

A Celebration of Buz’s Life will be held Friday, April 7 at 10 a.m. at York United Methodist Church. Burial with military honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Richfield, where he will be laid to rest with his wife.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the York United Methodist Church debt reduction fund at the address above.
