Paul Bohley
OBITUARIES

Paul Bohley went home to be with the Lord following a brief illness on Feb. 9, 2017.

A lifelong resident of Medina County, he spent the last 11 years at Brookdale assisted living. He was born to Christian and Bessie (nee Dickerman) Bohley in 1923.

He served his country as a B-24 pilot in World War II, flying 30 missions in 1944 and 1945. Following the service, Paul came home to run the family farm and continued as a combat pilot in the Ohio Air National guard. He served on the Buckeye School board during consolidation which would form Buckeye school district. After leaving the farm, Paul worked for and retired from Gorman Rupp Pump Company where he was the head of agricultural sales. He also served as the president of the national sprinkler Irrigation Association. He was active in veteran affairs as a member of the Medina American Legion and was an active member of the Medina United Methodist Church. He is a former president of Medina Kiwanis.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy (nee Persons); sisters, Elinor Gayer and Julia Northy.

He is survived by sister, Mary Ann Baxter of Beaverton, Ore.; daughter, Donna and Larry Davis; and son Keith and Linda. He had seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
