North Royalton Police
Jan. 27 – A traffic stop was initiated on a silver Audi station wagon with heavily tinted windows on York Road at approximately 1:30 a.m. There were three individuals in the car. An officer detected the strong odor of alcoholic beverages and a pungent stench of marijuana. The driver, Nicholas M. Strippy, told the officer he did not have anything illegal. He consented to a search of his person. The officer found a container in his jeans pocket that contained an odorless green substance. Strippy identified the substance as chapstick and also admitted there was marijuana inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle located a smoking pipe that reeked of marijuana, an e-cigarette that smelled of marijuana, a clear plastic baggie filled with a green leafy substance, a black canvas baggie labeled “Colorado Retail Marijuana” and a red cylinder plastic container filled with a green leafy substance. Srippy admitted that all the marijuana and paraphernalia belonged to him. Citations were issued to Strippy for prohibited tint on windows, possession of drug paraphernalia, drug abuse (marijuana) and drug abuse (hashish).
