Royalton will become another Parma if we continue like this

To the Editor:
The city of North Royalton is at serious crossroads. We can continue down the path of not supporting our schools and become just another Parma or any other community that has not supported schools. Or we can follow the lead of other communities who value schools and what they do for their communities.

As for all the negative commenters and articles, your voices are heard and many of your concerns have been addressed. But, as I read your comments, I never see logical solutions. Any person can say no, but it takes a special person to step up with a logical plan and lead.

I was raised by a father who taught in the North Royalton schools. I have watched this community go from a farm town to a true bedroom community. I grew up jealous of what the North Royalton schools offered to students as the Parma schools did not have the ability to offer them. Why? Because the community always said no to the future when levies and bonds were voted on.

I moved my family from Parma to North Royalton to give them better opportunities. I saw what our Plan B looks like when I went to school in the Parma schools. If we as a community continue to say no, future families will say no to North Royalton. Eventually we will become Parma.

North Royalton’s future is now.
