Betty J. Bauman, 89, of Litchfield, passed onto her heavenly home Nov. 11, 2016. She was born in Medina on Oct. 20, 1927 to the late Archie and LoDema Hamer.
Betty was a lifelong resident of Medina County. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Valley City as well as the Ladies Group. She had been a waitress at the former HobNob Restraint in Lodi for many years. Lastly, she had worked at the Cloak and Hangar in Buehler's Forest Meadows store.
Betty was an avid Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavaliers fan, but she mostly enjoyed following and supporting her grandchildren's activities.
Betty is survived by her husband, Willard of 70 years; children, William (Pam), Robert (Julie), Bonnie (Ken) Smay and Rex; grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Bauman, Kristin (Ryan) Anderson, Benjamin (Nichole) Bauman, Janice (Keith) Curtin, Bradley Bauman (Kellie), Kyle Bauman and Brett Smay; great-grandchildren, Madison, Brayden, Charlotte, Ellianna Bauman, Blakeslee Curtin, Travis and Trent Anderson and Brooke Bauman; and sister, Virginia Hinkel.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Joe Hamer and sister, LaRue Brown.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Valley City or Hospice of Medina County.
