Brooklyn teen jailed for fireworks damage
Medina Police
July 22 – Police responded at 9:54 p.m. to a report of an explosion on Longview Road. A teen had reportedly set off a large firecracker and caused damage to property. Zachary P. Hozjan, 19, of Brooklyn, Ohio, was arrested for criminal damage and possessing illegal fireworks, both misdemeanors. He was taken to the county jail.

Medina Police
July 23 – Police were called after a Gayer Drive residence was fraudulently listed for rent on Craigslist.

July 23 – Police were called to a West Liberty Street business to locate a missing juvenile who had a warrant out of Olmsted Falls. The juvenile was located and turned over to authorities there.

July 21 – A man on Chadwick Lane called police wanting to return a mower to his ex-girlfriend at 5:29 p.m. Police were unable to make contact with the ex.

July 21 – Police and paramedics responded at 9:37 a.m. to a drug overdose at a North State Road address. A female was transported to the hospital.

July 18 – Police were called to a disturbance at a Bronson Street address at 11:20 p.m. after an intoxicated male reportedly took keys from an intoxicated female to prevent her from driving.

July 18 – Police were called to investigate an assault on Guilford Boulevard at 7:43 p.m. after a female reported a teenage male inappropriately grabbed her while riding by on his bicycle.

July 18 – Police and paramedics responded at 5:49 p.m. to a Woodhaven Lane address after a vehicle accidentally rolled away and pinned the homeowner against the garage.

July 18 – Police responded at 12:42 p.m. to a report of criminal damage on Grant Street after the driver of a Hummer reported the vehicle was shot with BBs while driving.

Montville Township Police
July 6 – Police spoke with an individual wanting to file a fraud report. Police determined the individual was not a victim, but was involved. He was advised to have the victim contact Cleveland Heights Police.

July 6 – Someone reported hearing gunshots in the woods around Sunburst Drive. Police did not hear anything and no one was located.

July 6 – Police responded to a noise complaint at a Deer Tail Drive residents. Upon arrival, 20 underage people were reportedly located, and 13 had consumed alcoholic beverages. The juveniles’ parents were contacted and arrangements were made to pick the kids up, with charges pending in juvenile court.

July 5 – Someone reported possible drug activity in White Tail Park due to a car being parked there after the gate was closed. Two males were warned for being in the park after dark.

July 5 – A Silverstone Lane resident advised her boyfriend took her car keys and possibly her wallet. Police contacted the boyfriend and he immediately returned the keys, but denied taking the wallet.

July 4 – A Park Drive resident advised her boyfriend choked her on the ground. Police spoke with the boyfriend and girlfriend separately. The boyfriend advised the girlfriend was intoxicated and wanted to fight and argue, reportedly saying she scratched him across the forearms and neck and kicked him. Police noted he did have scratch marks on his arms. He reported he did not touch her and did not want charges brought against her. The girlfriend reported during an argument he pushed her on the floor and strangled her and she scratched him to get him off, but police noted she did not have marks on her consistent with the story. Both parties agreed to separate for the evening.

July 3 – Police removed a goat from a fence on Sharon Copley Road.

July 1 – A Green Ash Trail resident woke up to find a concrete Buddha was taken from their front yard. The Buddha was valued at approximately $300.

Medina Township Police
July 20 – A Cynthia Drive resident called police to report, a few weeks prior, she was in her backyard with her dog and heard multiple gunshots. A week later, she noticed a hole in the side of her house. Since then, other township residents have reported their houses being hit by gunshots, as well. The resident decided to make a report for that reason.

July 18 – An employee at a Reserve Commons business called police to report a fraudulent check had been written on the company account. A report was taken.

July 15 – A 2008 Chevy Impala was reported missing from the parking lot of a Pearl Road business at 11:38 a.m. A theft report was taken.

July 15 – Police responded at 8:23 a.m. to a disturbance at a South Weymouth Road address where an intoxicated man was having a stroke while in a verbal dispute with his wife. The man was calm upon police arrival and was transported to the hospital by paramedics.

July 14 – Tires were reported stolen from a Ledgewood Drive business at 12:20 p.m.

July 11 – Drugs were reported missing from a health care business at 7:53 a.m.
