To the Editor:
Ever ask why ballot initiatives are only about big, tough to decide issues like further support for first responders, roads and the library?
You know, the basic jobs of government. Initiatives are never asking would you support X, Y, Z low priority or A, B, C low priority? The politicians have structured funding legislation to force these unnecessary options on citizens.
How about the politicians having a ballot initiative asking if the basics of government be funded by yet more money to government or should the politicians at all levels debate among themselves how to better prioritize the already excessive amount of tax dollars given to government regardless if federal, state or local?
Politicians, do the tough job and look to other elected officials for the dollars to do what is needed versus the easier path of trying to get more from the taxpayer. Enough is enough.
