Applying for a grant for a logo design is a waste of money

To the Editor:

Reading the article about the Solid Waste District applying for a grant for $30,000 is a waste of money. Why doesn’t the district get creative and have an art contest with the local Medina High School art class or have the JVS work on something? For the “Best Of” sign, give the winner something like $500 for the best logo. Get the community involved with a goal in mind. We don’t need a grant for something as simple as a logo. I’ll bet you’ll get many logos to choose from. Then, your time could be better spent on your job description rather than playing. You have already admitted that you’re not an artist, so be creative and come up with a plan, as mentioned above.
