AKRON – Dozens of schools and organizations from as far away as New York recently took part in the 2017 Gravity Racing Challenge STEM team competition at historic Derby Downs in Akron. Out of 100 Soap Box Derby super stock cars, two teams from Medina made to the final four. The team from A.I. root middle school (in orange) finished in fourth place and Girl Scout Troop 90469 based out of St. Francis Xavier School (in blue) walked away with the first-place trophy.
