Chest compression systems purchased for Life Support Team

MEDINA – Proceeds from the October 2016 Medina Hospital Foundation BASH (Benefitting A Superior Hospital) fundraising gala were recently used to purchase chest compression systems for Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital’s Life Support Team (LST) ambulances.

Sudden cardiac arrest remains a leading cause of death in our area. Although the average patient’s age is around 70, sudden cardiac arrest can strike even the young and athletic.

Chest compression systems standardize chest compressions in accordance with the latest guidelines. They provide the same quality for all patients, offering steady and consistent compressions even when the ambulance is moving.

Each unit comes with three quick charge batteries. Wireless Bluetooth sends data to the patient’s record, including length of time the device was in use, number and frequency of compressions and the length of any pauses in compressions.
