I hope our community will participate in a bright future
To the Editor:
As both an economic development practitioner and a consultant, I understand the critical importance education plays in a community’s future. As a parent and grandparent, I always expect and want the best opportunity for my children and grandchildren to develop the skill sets necessary to succeed in today’s world. As a resident in the North Royalton School District, I have no vested interest other than a desire to have our schools provide the learning environment conducive to producing students, citizens and leaders.
This letter is a vision for our community. It is our responsibility to provide the best opportunity to our children, their parents and our community. After voter approval of lssue 11, let’s look into the future.
Once construction is complete, students, teachers and the administration will embrace new facilities with pride; dedicating their efforts to provide not only a bricks and mortar sense of place but more importantly, a dynamic learning and growing environment which encourages a positive optimistic sense of place.
With many impediments to teaching removed, students and teachers now have the ability to achieve more in a setting which allows everyone to focus on advancement.
The ability to meet individual student needs is greatly enhanced. The district will see an increase in enrollment. Property values will continue to rise as North Royalton attracts more residents. Further, the community will benefit from strong economic growth thanks to an influx of new businesses who cite the improving schools performance as a key factor in deciding to plant their roots in our city. Work skills improve as businesses requiring new employees communicate their needs to the schools through programs intended to foster interaction.
What is clear is that the priority is now where it should be – on the students. The community of North Royalton recognizes today that our legacy will be remembered and rewarded by our commitment to investing in the future of our finest assets: our children and grandchildren. By giving them the tools and the environment they need to grow, they will lead us into an even better tomorrow.
This vision may become reality if this community so chooses. I have seen similar results throughout this great country. My hope for North Royalton is that our students, their families and all residents will participate in a bright future.
