Medina Township Police

Feb. 21 – A male was reportedly passed out in the front seat of a black Volkswagen parked at a Pearl Road store. Keys were in the ignition and he reportedly had an open container of alcohol. Roman Marcos, 36, of Kent, was cited for open container and for physical control of a vehicle while under the influence.

Medina County Sheriff

Feb. 18 – Someone removed a window and entered a Rischel Road residence in Wadsworth Township. 

Feb. 13 – Jewelry, including an engagement ring, gold coins and a pearl necklace were taken while a Brook Road resident in Wadsworth Township was on vacation. The resident believed the person watching the house took the items. 

Feb. 13 – Copper wire was taken from a building under construction on Medina Road in Granger Township. 

Feb. 12 – Percocet pills and collectible coins were taken from a Redfern Drive address in Gloria Glens. A 37-year-old Medina man is suspected. 

Medina Township Police

Feb. 22 – Police were called to a Pearl Road store for a possible shoplifter. After speaking with the suspect, Mary Stanton, 49, of Medina, was issued a citation for theft.

Feb. 16 – Police responded to a two-car crash on Foote Road. The driver of the vehicle that was at fault was reportedly found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The driver, Julie Murphy, 56, of Foote Road, was arrested and charged with OVI and failure to yield while making a left turn.

Wadsworth Police Department

Feb. 23 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop in the area of College and Kyle streets at approximately 3:30 p.m. Officers reported that the driver, Micky Probst, 55, of Norton, had a warrant out of Norton for failure to appear.

Feb. 23 – Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Rittman Road shortly before 11 p.m. after discovering the vehicle’s owner had a suspended license. After an investigation, police officers issued the driver, Ashlee Simon, 30, of Rittman, a citation for driving under suspension. Officers also reported finding marijuana paraphernalia inside the vehicle. They gave Simon a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Feb. 23 – Police officers arrested Jason Marks, 37, on a felony warrant out of Portage County.

Feb. 22 – Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Randy Boggs for failure to appear for jail time on an attempt charge.

Feb. 22 – Police officers took a report about a counterfeit bill being used in the 600 block of Broad Street. There are no suspects at this time.

Feb. 22 – Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Eric Suboticki for a probation violation.

Feb. 22 – Police officers were dispatched to a business on Williams Reserve Boulevard shortly before 5:30 p.m. in reference to a report of a shoplifter who was about to exit the store with stolen merchandise. When police arrived they were advised that the suspect had made it to his car and left the parking lot, but a description was obtained. The suspect, Nathan Testa, 26, of Norton, was tracked down at his residence with the assistance of Norton Police. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Medina County Summit Sheriff’s Office Jail.

Feb. 21 – A resident from the 500 block of Trails End contacted the police department to report a fraudulent credit card.

Feb. 21 – Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Amanda Kinder for failure to appear for arraignment on a driving under suspension charge.

Feb. 21 – A resident from the 200 block of Stratford Avenue contacted the police department to report an incident of telecommunications harassment. A report was taken and the incident is under investigation.

Feb. 21 – A resident from the 500 block of Main Street contacted the police department to report that his wallet had been stolen. A report was taken and the incident is being investigated.

Feb. 21 – Police officers were dispatched to a business in the 400 block of High Street at approximately 4:15 p.m. in reference to a report of two juveniles who had been caught shoplifting. The property was recovered and a report will be sent to the Medina County Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office for review for charges.

Feb. 21 – A resident from the 200 block of Third Street reported a theft that occurred over the internet. The incident is under investigation.

Feb. 20 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation at the intersection of Summit Street and Red Rock Drive at approximately 2 a.m. Officers reported that the driver, Ernest Bennett, 42, of Akron, was driving the vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Bennett was also issued a minor misdemeanor citation for possession of marijuana.

Feb. 20 – Police officers responded to Central Intermediate School at approximately 3 p.m. after receiving a report that there were a large group of juveniles on the grounds and also kids on top of the roof. Upon arrival, police officers located two individuals, Brandon Dye, 18, of Barberton, and a 17-year-old male. Both were detained. Dye was charged with criminal trespass and obstructing official business. Charges are being forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor.

Feb. 20 – The police department took a report about a burglary that occurred in the 300 block of North Lyman Street. The incident is under investigation.

Feb. 20 – A resident from the 400 block of Dohner Drive reported that her credit and debit cards were stolen. The matter is under investigation.

Feb. 20 – Police officers and EMS personnel were dispatched to the 200 block of Carol Way at approximately 5:45 p.m. in reference to a report of an unresponsive 37-year-old male. It was determined that the individual was overdosing on opiates. He was treated and was transported to Summa Wadsworth-Rittman for further treatment.

Feb. 19 – An employee from a business located in the 1100 block of High Street contacted the police department to report a case of criminal trespass that occurred Feb. 8. The suspect had been previously warned about coming back to the business and was observed inside the store. Charges are pending further investigation.

Feb. 18 – A resident from the 800 block of Renee Drive is the possible victim of a felony theft. The incident is under investigation.

Medina Police

Feb. 27 – Police responded to a report of a missing juvenile on Damon Drive at 10:47 p.m. The child was located and returned home.

Feb. 27 – A student at Claggett Middle School was arrested for threatening violence at 8:18 p.m. The juvenile was charged with inducing panic, a misdemeanor.

Feb. 27 – Police were called to Broadway Street on a report of juveniles fighting at 5:30 p.m. An officer reported the juveniles were playing basketball and there were no problems.

Feb. 27 – An unclaimed Ford Escape was recovered from the 800 block of West Smith Road and entered into property at 12:49 p.m.

Feb. 27 – Michael Bird, 39, of Chippewa Lake, was arrested at a Lafayette Road address just before noon on a warrant out of Cuyahoga Heights.

Feb. 27 – Timothy R. Weintraub, 36, and Christina L. Weintraub, 34, both of Mentor, were arrested on Medina warrants at 8:40 a.m.

Feb. 27 – Bryant D. Sims, 28, of West Union Street, was arrested at his address for making threats during a disturbance at 12:22 a.m.

Feb. 26 – Police spoke with a juvenile on East Homestead Street after reportedly making a "comment about breasts."
