First- and second-year students from Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) presented an after-school learning experience on Nov. 11 to Highland Middle School eighth-graders who are in the advanced math class.

This is the fourth year for the after-school program where medical students share information and offer hands on experiences regarding cranial nerves, the heart, the circulatory system and reflexes.

A panel discussion also allowed HMS students to ask questions about high school and college course work, extracurriculars and requirements for medical school. The purpose of the program is to pique a student’s interest in the medical field as a future career path.
