Montville Township Police
Oct. 30 – An officer observed a red Honda Civic pass the patrol car without a license plate on the front of the vehicle at 10:53 p.m. The officer ran the plate on the back of the vehicle and it alerted to the plate being stolen. Police located the vehicle in the parking lot of a Medina Road bar, and when police approached the vehicle the driver and passenger allegedly fled on foot into the bar. Police attempted to stop one male but he did not listen to the order. Police pursued him into the bar and apprehended him in the kitchen with help of the staff. He was identified as Kenneth Taylor, 48, of Wooster, and was reportedly found to have multiple warrants through Wayne County. Taylor was cited with driving on a suspended license and issued a summons for obstructing official business. He is also facing a receiving stolen property charge pending a grand jury indictment.
Medina Police
Nov. 14 – Police took a report for vandalism at a Brynmar Lane residence at 11:55 a.m. The residence’s siding was damaged.
Nov. 14 – A cell phone was stolen from a display case at a North Court Street business at 11:23 a.m. A report was taken.
Nov. 13 – Nicole S. Dempsey, 44, of East Union Street, was arrested for felony domestic violence at 6:27 p.m.
Nov. 13 – Kevin P. Oas, 43, of East Friendship Street, was arrested on a warrant at 3:30 p.m.
Nov. 13 – Police stopped the driver of a Kia for a turn signal violation on Oak Street at 1:58 p.m. Robert G. Pavlick, 61, of North Royalton, was arrested for OVI, allegedly consuming liquor in a vehicle and child endangering due to a minor reportedly being present in the vehicle. Pavlick reportedly blew more than twice the legal limit on a breath test.
Nov. 12 – Amanda C. Tosatto, 34, of Jackson Street, was arrested for domestic violence at 10:11 p.m.
Nov. 12 – Police and safety forces responded to the Medina County Community Center on West Smith Road after a male collapsed at the gun show at 12:11 p.m. The male’s condition was not reported.
Nov. 11 – Police stopped the driver of a Buick on West Liberty Street at 6:51 p.m. The driver, a juvenile, was cited for driving under suspension. A pipe, which police reported as a “crack pipe,” was located in the vehicle and sent for testing. Additional charges are pending.
Nov. 10 – Police responded to a drug overdose at an East Union Street address at 9:53 p.m. A woman was transported to the hospital by paramedics.
Nov. 7 – Police were called after a woman reportedly left Medina Hospital with an IV still in her arm at 5:12 p.m. She was found to have multiple warrants. Jamie L. Charlton, 41, of Highland Drive, was arrested at her address. Joshua J. Wilke, 41, of Birch Hill Drive, was also arrested on a warrant during the event.
Medina Township Police
Nov. 14 – Police responded to a Pine Lake Drive address after a 17-year-old male reportedly took a truck without permission at 10:03 a.m.
Oct. 29 – A staff member at a local medical facility called police about a township woman being treated for an injury at 1:53 a.m. The staff member advised they didn’t think the injury happened the way the woman said it did and wanted an officer to speak with her.
Montville Township Police
Oct. 30 – A Bridle Court home was egged overnight. There was no visible damage.
Oct. 30 – Police initiated a traffic stop on Medina Road with a 33-year-old male from Copley. During the interaction, the male reportedly produced a wooden case containing marijuana and a pipe from his jeans pocket. He reportedly stated he knew police would want to know about it, which is why he volunteered the information. He was cited for possession of marijuana paraphernalia and released.
Oct. 29 – Someone reported a male subject with long hair and gauged ears was acting erratically and attempted to hit an employee at a Medina Road fast food restaurant. The customer reportedly came in upset about his order, threw his order towards the clerk and began cussing. The clerk allegedly tried to help him but he continued to cuss at her. He reportedly would not leave after being told to several times, but he left after being told the police were called. Another clerk went outside to get the license plate number from the vehicle and was reportedly nearly struck. They wished to pursue charges and they provided statements to police.
Oct. 29 – A tree fell onto a vehicle traveling west on Sharon Copley Road. The vehicle sustained significant damage but no injuries were reported and the vehicle was still able to be driven from the scene. The tree was removed from the roadway.
Oct. 28 – An Alyssa Lane resident reported someone opened his front door and then closed it. No vehicles or people were seen by the complainant. The complainant asked police to keep an eye on his house.
Oct. 28 – An arrow was shot into the side of a Blue Heron Trace home.
Oct. 25 – A Country Club Drive resident reported a sick raccoon in her yard bit her dog. Police were unable to determine if the raccoon was sick or injured because it was hidden in the front shrubbery. Later, the complainant called back to advise the raccoon was now circling in the front yard and was not responsive to approach. The raccoon was determined to be ill and was dispatched.
