On Nov. 21, Sharon Elementary fifth-grader Ashley Brewster served as “principal for a day” and learned the ropes of being a principal with Mrs. Katie Kowza (Sharon principal).

She had several duties to take care of throughout the day including helping with morning announcements, inspecting the building, eating lunch with the principal, and of course, having her picture taken with the principal. Ashley was also given a t-shirt that declared she was “principal for a day.”

This day was one of the many items auctioned off during the 12th annual Highland Foundation dinner and benefit auction held on Nov. 5. Each elementary school participated in the auction. Ashley is the daughter of Joanna and Jason Brewster of Sharon Township.
