SHARON TOWNSHIP – When Sharon Township trustees met briefly Nov. 22, they learned from Bob Turek, township maintenance supervisor, that the new plow/salt truck, a 2016 Kenworth, has already been utilized during the recent snowfall. This truck replaces a 2006 International plow truck. The truck is painted green (one of Highland’s colors) and boasts a Highland Hornet logo to show community support for Highland schools.
Eagle Scout project
For his Eagle Scout project, Boy Scout Greg Karwowski was given the go-ahead by trustees to construct a “Little Free Library,” with a completion deadline of the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. The “Little Free Library” is a help-yourself small book facility that will be placed near the west door of the administration building. It will measure 2-feet by 4-feet. One can bring a book (or more) and take out a book to read, thus keeping the ever-changing supply of available books constant. However, if one wishes to keep a book for his or her personal library rather than return it, this is permitted.
