NORTH ROYALTON – It’s safe to say fireworks are once again a mainstay of the annual home days celebration as the mayor announced this week plans to seek sponsorships for the third year in a row.

Mayor Bob Stefanik said home days just isn’t the same without a firework finale so he will soon begin reaching out to businesses, organizations and individuals to make it possible, as fireworks are not paid for out of city coffers but rather private donations.

Fireworks have traditionally been a part of the city’s annual Community Festival festivities off and on over the years. Stefanik brought them back in 2008 after he became mayor, but it was short lived. When the economy dived in 2009, fireworks fizzled too, until the mayor reinstated them in 2015.

“The fireworks are great because after the parade, it keeps crowds on the City Green in anticipation. It’s neat to see families on the street anxiously awaiting to see that first firework go off and the cheers,” Stefanik said. “Who doesn’t love a good fireworks display? We want to thank last year’s partners, and we’ll be reaching out again here soon.”

This year’s 133rd Annual North Royalton Community Festival will be Aug. 18-20 at the City Green. Ridge will close down between Bennett and Royalton roads for the parade Aug. 20 and remain so for fireworks which will be launched again from the Good Karma Broadcasting radio tower property behind The 3 Spot on Ridge, across from the Green. Zambelli Fireworks typically performs the display.

The mayor is actively seeking sponsors now to fund the show.

There are three sponsorship levels: platinum, which is a donation of $2,500 or more; gold, a donation of $1,000; and bronze, a $500 sponsorship.

Sponsors for last year’s fireworks display were University Hospitals, North Coast Litho, Inc., Mayor Bob Stefanik, The 3 Spot, Royal Wire, Stano Law Firm, Matteo’s Restaurant, Fifth Third Securities, First National Bank, NOPEC, The Fedeli Group, Council President Larry Antoskiewicz, Snider Recreation, The Jump Yard, Legacy Financial, Surace Smith, Quality Inspection Inc., Southwest Urology and M2 Management.

Businesses or residents who would like to help sponsor this year’s fireworks show can contact the mayor’s office at 440-237-4300.
