YORK TWP. — A 65-year-old Medina man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Spieth Road around 5:30 p.m. May 15.

Steven Schade was operating a 2013 Dodge Dart eastbound on Spieth east of Abbeyville Road and reportedly failed to yield the right-of-way when turning north onto Stillwater Drive. His vehicle struck a 2009 Toyota Corolla driven by Lawrence Wiggins, 65, of Elyria.

CPR was administered on scene and Schade was pronounced dead at Medina Hospital. Schade was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Medina County Sheriff’s Office, Erhart/York Fire Department and Bear’s Towing assisted at the scene. Spieth Road was closed for about 2 1/2 hours after the crash.
